I loved Meagan’s inspiration and color choices for her wedding at the beautiful Ceilo at Castle Pines. However, the flowers proved to be a real challenge. How do you create flowers for a bride who wants Tiffany blue and brown when flowers don’t naturally come in that color?
The answer is air brush just like professional makeup artists use! I air brushed a few roses in each bouquet with a Tiffany blue color wash and added small loops of Tiffany blue satin ribbon to the interior of the bouquets to get just the right color into these bouquets.
The next issue came when I added a few green leaves and they were just too yellow to compliment the cool subtle colors of the bouquet. So, back to the air brush!
This time I used a very light dusting of a sage green to match the green tones in the eucalyptus. Yes, now I have exactly what the bride envisioned.
Then I added a few twigs of curly willow for movement and to get touches of brown into the floral design.
Ceilo at Castle Pines is a beautiful site with water falls, a wedding gazebo, a beautiful bridal dressing room, and seating for 400. And it is all snuggled into a Colorado forest near Castle Rock. It’s an amazing site, with beautiful amenities.
I hope you have enjoyed these pictures, and thank you Will and Dallas of Jade Creek Photography for sharing these pictures with me. These pictures are truly quite remarkable. They are accurate to the color, the composition is artistic, and the photographers Will and Dallas Bloodworth have managed to find a lively gesture in my floral design. I’m so impressed with their excellent work.
Keep checking back for more ideas and pictures. I’ll be sure to share all my best ideas with you. Liz
